Hit or miss is one of the fastest solitaire games to learn and play. Hit or miss uses one deck of playing cards and does not take up much space.
| Players: 1 | Type: Solitaire | Supplies: 1 Deck |
The objective of hit or miss is to discard cards that match what you are saying as you count out loud.
Shuffle the cards and place the entire deck face down.
(Lowest Rank) Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King (Highest Rank)
Deal one card at a time into a waste pile, as you count the card sequence ace to king out loud. As you deal the first
card, you say “ace”, deal the second card and say “two”, deal the third card and say “three,” and so on. This sequence
continues all the way to dealing the 13th card when you say “King”. After you say king you start over again at ace.
When you deal a card that matches what you have said, that card is discarded, and you continue to deal while continuing
to say the sequence where you left off. When all cards have been dealt, as long as you have discarded at least one card
(known as a hit) you can redeal the cards, and pick up the counting sequence where you left off. If you redeal the cards
two times in a row without discarding a card, you lose.
If all cards are discarded, hit or miss is won. If you redeal two times in a row without discarding a card, hit or miss is lost.
-Frustration is a similar game that is typically much faster to play.
