Beleaguered castle solitaire is a very straightforward solitaire that uses one deck of playing cards and is easy to learn.
| Players: 1 | Type: Solitaire | Supplies: 1 Deck |
The objective of beleaguered castle solitaire is to build the foundation piles up in suit to the king.
Remove the aces from the deck and place them above the tableau to form the four foundation piles. Use the remaining deck to form eight tableau piles with six face up cards each, splayed down.
The foundation piles are built up in sequence from ace to king in suit. To add an available card to a foundation pile,
it must be one rank higher and of the same suit.
Only the top card of each tableau pile is available for play, either onto another tableau pile or onto a foundation pile. Tableau piles are built down in sequence regardless of suit. When a tableau pile becomes empty, it may be filled with any available card from another tableau pile.
Game play continues until there are no more moves.
To win beleaguered castle solitaire, all four foundation piles must be built from ace to king in suit.
